Acireale’s Timpa

The "Timpa" is at the foot of the town of Acireale, along a lava ridge that dives into the sea.

It is characterized by a promontory about 80 meters high, covered with lush mediterranean vegetation.

The area, given its naturalistic, geological, faunal and vegetative value, was appointed as Riserva Naturale Orientata "La Timpa" by Regione Sicilia in 1999.

The reserve is characterized by a massif shaped in steps and faults, which seems to emerge from the sea, originated by overlapping layers of lava through thousands of years.

All throughout the reserve you can walk along several paths from which you can admire the beauty of the "Timpa", and our beautiful rocky beaches.
